Aloha! I love that there are so many ways to say hello! I'm actually writing now because I have a busy weekend ahead of me. So, for school I have been listening to the Hobbit, (I'm actually listening to the end right now) and as I have been listening I realized how much change Bilbo went through! I mean really! Since the morning Gandalf came and visited him, his life was never the same. And think how weird it must have been for him once he returned home! If you haven't picked up on it yet, my topic is change. The only thing that will be the same. Pretty ironic if you ask me. I have gone through a TON of change in my 15 short years. I've moved 8 times, twice in roughly a year, my dad's different jobs, different friends, churches, situations, and places. And recently, there have been some opportunities that have come up in my life that would require some BIG changes. And I don't like change. At all. None. Zilt. Nada. Nope.
TOPIC: CHANGE
Ok, I've already said that change is the only thing that stays the same but that's not true. GOD!!! Of course. God is the one consistent thing we can count on.
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. ”
Trusting in God and having faith in Him will give us comfort while facing change and the future. I think that is why I love the book of Revelation so much because I have comfort in knowing what is going to happen, that Jesus is going to take me to heaven with Him.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Another way I have courage during change is prayer and being thankful for what I have. I struggle with anxiety during change. But I remember all I need to do is pray and hand my worries over to God (see my blog The Almighty one), and I've found that I cannot worry about it anymore. Literally, But don't take my word for it! Whatever change you are dealing with, just pray to God and hand it over to Him. That's it.
BOTTOM LINE: The way to deal with change is through faith and prayer.
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."- Reinhold Niebuhr
"If we don't change, we don't grow. If we don't grow, we aren't really living."- Gail Sheehy
Thank you so much, Charis! Your blog is such a blessing!❤️
I can definitely sympathize with you about change. I do not like it in the least, but since turning 18 I've had to learn how to make decisions that cause change in my life. And I've balked at most of that new stuff (e.g. learning how to do taxes. Ugh) and time and time again I have to keep reminding myself that it is not God's will for me to be a teenager my whole life, and I've got to move on with life with Him strengthening me and giving me the real knowledge and discernment, so that I can fulfill His will for me.
Loved it! (Like always!)❤️
Great as always! ❤️
