Trivia Question: What is the worst felony?

Murder?

Lying?

Stealing?

Murder is terrible, but not in self-defense...

A white lie is not that dangerous...

Stealing is an error; but a little candy bar won't kill anyone, right?

The correct answer is that no felony is better or worse than the previous one.

Each wrongdoing is equally evil.

Funny how we, as fallen humans, try to "rate" and categorize mistakes and injustices, when God's set standard is perfection.

• "because it is written: “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” (1 Peter 1:16)

No exceptions.

No "buts".

Every transgression is viewed the same way in God's eyes, meaning that we all have screwed up.

The Bible has a special word for that, actually.

It's called sin.

Sin destroys people's lives.

Sin ruins beautiful things.

Sin separates us from God.

• "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," (Romans 3:23)

This sounds depressing.

Bleak.

Hopeless.

That's because it is.

Or rather, was.

Until Jesus made the Way.

Jesus, God in the flesh, holy, perfect, blameless, and without sin came down to Earth to die in our place.

Our sin cost God's life.

Woah.

The good news, though, is that Christ did not remain dead. He rose again three days later, and dwells in Heaven, seated at the right hand of God the Father. If we choose to repent (turn away) of our sins and trust in Him, He becomes our Savior, and cleanses us from all of our unrighteousness.
