Good morning wonderful peoples! It's been a hot minute! It is 7 o'clock in the morning and I am at school already. Life of a teachers kid-am I right? Anyone? Lately I have been listening to the devo called Have You Heard? by Emma Mae Jenkins. And in it she has been talking a lot about love. Not the icky kind you see on hallmark, but the commandment that says to love God and love man. We all know that one person right? That just gets on your nerves and you really just can't stand them sometimes, you have to love them to. There is a someone that I ran into here at the school that was very mean and he kind of picked on me and I was struggling because I see him every day. I was talking to God one night and just complaining out loud about him. I was flipping through my bible during my rant and I came across Mathew 5:43-44 43 that says; “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Love your neighbor? That mean old lady who yells at you to get of her lawn and to get a haircut? Yup! Selah, you may say, I love her, but I don't like her. God says to love them unconditionally. That means that you have to like them to! Sadly, Its not as easy as it sounds.
We often put a if after our sentences. 'I'll love her, if she stops being so mean.' 'I'll be nice, if he stops talking about me cruelly' The thing to remember is 1 Corinthians 13:4–8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love does not have condition. It doesn't have an if clause. It is patient and kind. Love has no bounds.
You've probably heard all these things before but its always good to have a reminder. Whelp, that about it. Have a good one!
That was an amazing reminder. Thank you so much, Selah!
God bless!
