Hello World! - 5/20/22

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!

So uhh…. I said I wasn’t gonna miss a month.. And I missed several… Sorry. :( I did write blog posts. I just forgot to actually post them. So.. yeah… I was pretty sure I sent one in for February though. I guess it got lost.

Oh, and don’t forget to stay till the end! I have exciting news!

Let’s talk about public speaking. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it a love/hate relationship?

So several weeks ago I volunteered to speak for my CBS class at our end of the year Sharing Day. My whole class was very relieved since none of them wanted to do it. XD

Well, yesterday was Sharing Day, and I was all ready to go up there and share the short piece I had prepared. (My class was so relieved when I got there. They were afraid that I wouldn’t be able to make it and one of them would have to do it.) I was doing fine that morning and was envisioning how confident I would be, but when we got there, my nervousness started to get to me. I was one of the later people to take my turn, which was nice since I wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it. In hindsight, I really should’ve remembered my water bottle. Soon it was my turn and I walked up there confidently enough. But when I got up there.. Oh, boy. I started out fine -ish, but my hands started shaking so much I couldn’t read my paper. I cut it short by a few lines and speed walked back to my seat. At the back of the room. *sigh*

I think it would’ve gone better if I had water. I was afraid that they would notice the tightness in my voice, and that only added to my nervousness. I don’t think anyone noticed anything though, that, or they’re very good at pretending because everyone kept complimenting what a good job I did.

In conclusion: Always remember to bring water. (And don’t rely on your usually confident side to make an appearance. XD)

Ok, I told you guys I had exciting news. I’m going to be life guarding this summer!!!

Well, hopefully that is. I’m not sure that I’ll pass the test, but my aunt needs lifeguards at her pool and everyone is confident I’ll pass. *sigh* I really hope I do pass! Wish me luck!
